The Battle of Mestina was a major battle in the Alpine War of 1933.
The Battle[]
The Violan Army under famed General Gianpaolo Michelotti was sent to the Ostras River to capture the bridges to allow the rest of the troops to pass. The Vistanian First Army was sent to prevent their capture. Vistanian artillery pounded the bridges, and presumed all were destroyed but the main one. When they tried to take it, the Violan Mountain Corps pinned them down. Meanwhile, a bridge further west had not been totally destroyed. Michelotti sent his men across it and were able to encircle and trap the First Army.
