Giovanni I of Viola (1759-1813) was the third King of Viola, ruling from 1801-1813, a mere 12 years. He was known as "the sorrowful", since his wife died in 1792, and his son only a few weeks earlier. Never a cheerful king, he became very sick and died alone at the Royal Palace. He was succeded by his only surviving child, Giovanni II in 1813.
